Resource Meeting, Work Session, & School Board Meeting
1. We recognized the Bronco Belles as UDA Large National Champions & Amanda Le as a Nation Merit Scholarship Finalist. Congratulations!
2. Mr. Necaise announced plans to launch the Zachary Virtual Learning School.
3. Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Brister, Mrs. Marangos, and Dr. Hand prepared and presented an overview of results of our district’s audit by APEL, highlighting strengths and opportunities for growth.
4. Advisory groups are set to continue their meeting series. Outcomes will contribute to student handbook review/revision considerations.
5. A motion to remove language that restricts public commenting at school board meetings failed, because it did not receive support. The public will now only be able to comment on agenda items for which a vote will be taken.
6. Career & community assessments will be underway to further develop internship opportunities for students.
7. Mr. Musso presented an overview of progress along our district’s adopted budget and actual income/expenditures.
8. Our board and central office staff participated in training around General Best Practices for Board Member role-related activities.
9. First Student was the sole provider that completed a full response to the RFP for transportation services search. The board approved the request to confirm these services.
10. We approved The Advocate as the Official Journal for ZCSD for the 2024-2025 school year.
11. We approved the request by Childre Nutrition to advertise for food service and supply bids.
12. We approved a request to transition our district’s investments portfolio over to Meeder Investment Management.
